Instagram ads run inside your Meta ad accounts, so SyncMetrics reads them through the Meta Ads connection and splits them out by platform and placement — Instagram Feed, Stories, Reels and Explore. Build Data Studio reports or just ask Claude or ChatGPT how your Instagram ads are doing.
There is no separate Instagram Ads API: Meta reports Instagram as a placement of the campaigns in your ad account. SyncMetrics uses Meta’s official Marketing API and its publisher platform breakdown (facebook, instagram, audience_network, messenger) to separate Instagram results, and the placement breakdown for Feed, Stories, Reels and Explore. One Meta connection gives you both Facebook and Instagram — see the Facebook Ads connector for the full metric list.
Instagram ads are part of your Meta ad account, so you connect Meta: click Connect with Meta on the SyncMetrics dashboard and add your ad accounts, open the connector in Data Studio, sign in with SyncMetrics, choose Facebook Ads (Meta) as the platform and click Create Report. Add the Publisher Platform dimension and filter it to instagram.
Connect Meta on your dashboard, then add https://mcp.syncmetrics.io/mcp as a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT and sign in with the same SyncMetrics account. Ask in your own words, for example “How did Instagram Reels do against Facebook Feed last month?”
No. Instagram Ads data comes through the Meta Ads connection, the same one that powers the Facebook Ads connector. Meta reports Instagram as a placement of your ads, so SyncMetrics splits it out with the publisher platform and placement breakdowns.
No. SyncMetrics covers Instagram ads — the paid side of your Meta ad accounts. Organic Instagram profile, follower and post insights are not available yet.
Not with SyncMetrics. SyncMetrics sends Instagram Ads data to Data Studio, Claude and ChatGPT only — there is no Tableau or Power BI connector. If your team reports in one of those tools, build the table in Data Studio and export it as CSV, or ask Claude for the table and download it, then load that file into Tableau or Power BI.
Yes — add the same address, https://mcp.syncmetrics.io/mcp, in either one. Claude needs a plan that supports custom connectors. In ChatGPT on the web, Business, Enterprise and Edu get full access and Pro is read-only, which is all reporting needs; Plus and Free don’t offer custom connectors yet.
Claude and ChatGPT work on every plan: Free (1 ad account per platform, last 30 days, no card), Starter ($10/mo, up to 2 ad accounts per platform, full history) and Pro ($25/mo, unlimited ad accounts). Data Studio is included on Pro only. See pricing.
